The National High-end Intelligent Household Appliance Innovation Center launched the RC705 in Qingdao—a next-generation AI chip designed for real-time edge computing. Designed specifically for smart home and robotics applications, the RC705 is the first of its kind in China, featuring a dual-core architecture that integrates a high-performance video subsystem and supports hardware-based encoding and decoding. These technical advantages significantly enhance high-precision, real-time visual perception and precise motion control in complex home environments, providing a powerful core engine for smart appliances and service robots.

Unlike traditional chips that rely on cloud processing by uploading sensed data, next-generation AI chips designed for real-time edge computing adopt an advanced low-power architecture that enables on-device AI computation. This eliminates the need for cloud dependency and greatly improves the efficiency of perception tasks.

As the only national-level manufacturing innovation center in China's home appliance industry, the National High-end Intelligent Household Appliance Innovation Center has in recent years focused on addressing weaknesses in the industrial and supply chains. It has built a dedicated chip service platform for the home appliance sector, established chip testing laboratories, and incubated chip design firms to help increase the adoption rate of domestic chips in the industry from 3% to 30%. The center’s earlier release, the RC605—the industry's first scenario-adaptive chip supporting generative control—has already entered mass production in commercial air conditioners, delivering a 30% reduction in energy consumption and reaching internationally leading standards.
