Qingdao Tourism Group (QTG) held a handover ceremony at the Qingdao International Sailing Centre for two newly built 40-meter, 200-passenger luxury vessels, Qinglü Huanghai (青旅黄海, meaning "Qingdao Tourism on the Yellow Sea") and Qinglü Bohai (青旅渤海, meaning "Qingdao Tourism on the Bohai Sea"), on the morning of March 27. These ships are scheduled to commence operations before the Qingming Festival holiday to offer both daytime and nighttime cruises that connect key maritime tourism spots such as Fushan Bay, Huiquan Bay, and Qingdao Bay. This addition propels Qingdao's maritime tourism capacity to the forefront nationally, bolstering the Sea Tour Qingdao initiative aimed at enhancing cultural and tourism consumption and promoting high-quality development in the sector.
The newly built luxury vessels Qinglü Huanghai and Qinglü Bohai both feature a steel-aluminum structure and a cruising range of over 200 nautical miles. Designed for safety, comfort, and environmental sustainability, they operate with low noise and excellent stability, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for passengers in various marine conditions.
QTG currently owns a fleet of 85 vessels, including those under construction, covering a diverse range of ship types such as large passenger ships, sailboats, yachts, small boats, drift boats, and motorboats. With a total capacity exceeding 4,000 passengers, the fleet supports dozens of maritime sightseeing routes. To further enhance Qingdao’s marine tourism offerings, the group plans to build a 1,000-passenger near-shore luxury sightseeing cruise ship, filling a gap in near-shore tourism experiences.
Looking ahead, Qingdao Tourism Group will be launching the Maritime Cherry Blossom Festival program during the Qingming Festival holiday to create an all-new spring tourism experience. The event will be hosted aboard the Qinglü Shihua Hangyun cruise ship (青旅世华航运, meaning "Global Splendor of Qingdao Tourism on Sea") which was delivered at the end of last year. Combining a cherry blossom theme with coastal sightseeing and cultural experiences, the festival aims to offer a unique and immersive springtime maritime tourism attraction.
